HP could be splitting into two smaller companies. One would focus on the personal computers and printers business while the other company will focus on business services such as computer servers, data storage, networking, and software. Meg Whitman, HP's chief executive believes that "HP needs the greater speed and agility that might come with two smaller and more focused companies." There is also a possibility that HP might merge with EMC, a data storage company. I guess these giant tech companies are look for new ways to expand.

Ebola has affected Liberians a whole lot. Families are being wiped out, people are losing their jobs, and people cannot touch each other in fear of getting the virus. Ebola is spread through vomit, blood, feces, tears, saliva and sweat.

So I found this article very interesting about AT&T phone service. This article talks about how Apple advertised the new iPhone 6 under AT&T as only $199, but the author of this article is saying that that is not true at all. Jeff Sommer mentions that AT&T will charge a $40 upgrade fee and the $15-$25 discount on the family share plan would no longer exist. He even mentions that the installment plan will be cheaper than the two year contract in that there won't be a $40 fee. So is it worth getting the new iPhone 6 or is it more worth it to keep the iPhone 5, I don't know. And with all the negative comments on the iPhone 6 bending, the decision becomes harder and harder for iPhone 5 owners who wants an upgrade up are now hesitant to.

This Walmart locate in the remote town of Williston, North Dakota pays employees over $17 an hour. Williston is located near oil fields. The cost of living in this town is pretty high due to lack of housing development; thus, very high rent. Workers came here for the high paying oil industry, and so to get the best employees, this Walmart's minimum wage is $17 an hour.

Funny Quotes From Article:
"You want the biggest possible phone when
you’re looking at it, but you want the smallest possible
phone when you’re carrying it."
"If the iPhone keeps getting bigger, and the
iPad keeps getting smaller, pretty soon they’ll meet in the middle."
" In any case, it’s hard to think of a
single area where the new iPhones aren’t better than the old ones — design,
comfort, screen, speed, storage, camera, even battery (it’s slightly better
than the old one) — as long as you don’t mind the bigger size."

Blog Post # 1
I don't really know what my blog is going to be about
yet, but I found this article pretty interesting so my first blog post for this
blog is going to be my response to this article called "Reconsidering
Millennials: They're Not That Different From You" by Meghan M. Biro.
So in the article, Biro basically talks about how the older
generation needs to stop bashing the millennial generation and learn to accept
us for who we are because in essence, we're really not that different from
any other generation; we are just more technologically advanced. Millennials
are constantly misunderstood and deemed as the lazy and narcissistic generation, but that is just not true.
Millennials simply do things a little differently from older generations
because we now live in a time where technology is constantly improving and
growing, and so naturally we are drawn to our phones, computers, and social
media because these things are impossible to avoid in our society today. Many
older people believe that technology serves as a distraction and causes us to
be lazy and self obsessed, but in reality technology is changing our lives for
the better. Technology allows us to be better connected and more efficient. It
also makes us great multitaskers because we can do multiple things at once and keep
up with it. In the article, Biro talks about how technology has improved
communication in that we went from snail mail, to telephone, to voicemails, to
emails, and finally to text. Due to technology, communication improved
drastically and has become easier and easier and also a whole lot faster.
Thus, the older generation needs to stop criticizing millennials and our lifestyle
and just learn to be open minded because we are not going to stop using our
phones and the technology we have. Technology is only going to improve and continue to grow,
and thus, older generations need to
reconsider their stereotypes of millennials because we are the next generation.
